I had been looking for a master carpenter to build customized cradled birch panels for my artwork. In my spare time, I am an encaustic artist and my work involves “painting with fire” using birch panels as my canvases. When I contacted John at Finbrowoodworks, he eagerly agreed to help me. John is personable, knowledgeable, and highly skillful and before I knew it, he delivered two 4 x 4 ft birch panels built precisely to my specifications. I have already done two paintings using those panels, one of which is part of an art gallery exhibition in Katonah, NY. The other was sold to a couple in Rhode Island. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I also purchased one of John’s beautiful heirloom-quality coffee tables made from old, repurposed chestnut barn beams.
